Pegasus Tech Ventures, a US-based corporate venture capital (CVC)-as-a-service provider, has partnered with Japan-based food group Ajinomoto.
Ajinomoto set up its CVC unit in December and the deal with Pegasus’s 16 offices will provide access to startups.
Shunji Takehana, group manager of Ajinomoto Corporate Venture Capital, said: “By utilising Pegasus’ extensive network, we will strengthen our CVC’s sourcing activities for innovation and accelerate collaboration with startup companies around the world in business domains, such as food and healthcare.”
Anis Uzzaman, founder and CEO of Pegasus, which has struck other deals with Japanese corporations recently, including NGK and Japanet, added: “We hope that Ajinomoto will be able to deliver the next generation of products to the global community through partnerships with top startups.”
