US-based vehicle management platform developer Bestmile has secured $11m in series A funding from investors including airport operator Groupe ADP and aerospace manufacturer Airbus.
The round was led by venture capital fund Road Ventures and included VC firms Partech Ventures, Serena Capital and MobilityFund, while Airbus provided funding through its Airbus Ventures unit.
Founded in Switzerland in 2014, Bestmile offers a cloud-based mobility services platform that helps fleet operators manage both autonomous and manually-driven vehicles simultaneously.
The system can handle fleets containing several vehicle types and includes easy-to-use interfaces for both the operator and passengers. Bestmile plans to adapt the platform for ride hailing services in preparation for the transition toward a more automated transport industry.
The capital will be put into product development as Bestmile looks to build its customer relationships and international market presence.
Airbus Ventures had previously contributed to BestMile’s $5.5m seed round in April 2017 along with Partech, Serena Capital, VC firm Perot Jain, alternative investment fund manager Forticap and assorted angel investors.
