France-based customer support technology provider iAdvize has raised a €14m ($16m) series A round featuring Iris Capital, a venture capital firm backed by telecoms firm Orange and advertising agency Publicis, TechCrunch reported today.
State-backed fund Bpifrance and VC firm Alven Capital also contributed funds.
Founded in 2010, iAdvize operates a live chat service for websites. The technology automatically detects users who require assistance, and enables customer support staff to contact these users directly.
The funding will support an expansion into the UK, Germany and Spain, followed by the US, and will hire 120 staff to that end, adding to its current 100 employees. The company will also further develop its platform to cover mobile and social media networks.
Alven Capital previously invested €1m in a 2012 seed round.
