MMB Networks, a Canada-based developer of internet-of-things (IoT) technology, has secured $7m in series B funding from investors including semiconductor manufacturer NXP Semiconductor.
Netherlands-based NXP invested alongside Roadmap Capital and existing backers Arctern Ventures and VentureLink Funds. MMB previously raised $3m in a 2013 series A round led by Plaza Ventures, according to CrunchBase.
MMB produces a range of hardware and software products based on its RapidConnect embedded software platform, which helps operate IoT platforms.
MMB and NXP have also formed a strategic alliance that will involve them co-developing a range of IoT hardware products powered by RapidConnect that will be released by NXP.
