SessionM, a US-based provider of mobile loyalty and advertising technology, raised $12m in a series C round featuring NTT Docomo Capital, the corporate venturing arm of mobile network NTT Docomo, on Tuesday.
Growth equity firm Causeway Media Partners led the round, which also included Commerce Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, Charles River Ventures (CRV) and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB).
SessionM has developed a cloud-based mobile advertising and customer loyalty platform that can be integrated into mobile apps. The company will use the capital to roll out new enterprise technology and secure additional multi-year deals with customers.
The funding brings the total raised by the company to $38.5m across three rounds. Highland Capital and KPCB supplied $6.5m for SessionM’s 2011 series A round before being joined by CRV for the company’s $20m series B the following year.
