Jodi Olson (pictured) is departing from her communications and marketing partner role at GV, an early-stage investment vehicle for internet technology conglomerate Alphabet, Silicon Valley Business Journal reported on Friday.
Formed in 2009 as Google Ventures before rebranding in 2015, GV focuses on developers of innovative products and services covering areas including life sciences, consumer products and services, enterprise and frontier technologies.
GV has $8bn under management, and its exits include on-demand ride service Uber, enterprise messaging platform developer Slack, oncology research technology provider Flatiron Health and Duo Security, which produces authentication software.
Olson joined GV in 2012 to lead its marketing and communications efforts and advise its portfolio companies on their public relations (PR) tactics. In 2015, she helped the unit create a PR and marketing-themed annual conference dubbed GV Comms Summit.
Before joining GV, Olson led consumer and platform communications for social network operator Twitter for nearly two years, having previously held a similar role at Kosmix, the social search group later acquired by retailer Walmart.
