Prodways finds extra dimension for $27.8m

3D printing technology developer Prodways Group secured €15m ($16.7m) yesterday from its parent company, France-based industrial product maker Groupe Gorgé, and €10m from financial services group Fimalac.

Prodways provides 3D printers and materials, as well as support and financing to European 3D printing companies.

Fimalac is set to take a 4.45% stake in Prodways through the transaction, and the combined $27.8m will be used to support an expansion strategy aimed at making it the largest third party 3D printing services provider in the world.

Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière, founder of Fimalac, said: “We are pleased to support Prodways Group in its aim to represent a leading 3D printing player in Europe capable of competing with key American players.

“In our view, Prodways Group and its teams – widely renowned for their expertise – represent a company capable of fast becoming one of the main leaders in the sector.”
