Diversified UK-based, family-owned group RO Group has launched an investment arm focused on technology companies operating in its core sectors.
The new investment arm, RO Capital Partners, will focus on the property, financial and clean technology sectors. The unit is set to invest up to £250,000 ($340,000) in early-stage companies and has the capacity to provide follow-on funding and long-term capital.
Established in 1932, RO Group owns a number of property development and financial services companies in the United Kingdom.
The company said its senior team has significant experience in the real estate, financial services and renewable energy sectors, and the unit’s portfolio will also be supported by the group’s infrastructure and resources as well as its real estate platform.
Edward Rowlandson, group managing director of RO Group, said: “Our considerable entrepreneurial experience, built over 90 years of investment activity in more than 20 different sectors, means we are ideally placed to launch a development capital arm.”
