Universal Avenue, a Sweden-based recruitment services platform that lets businesses hire on-demand brand ambassadors, raised $10m today in a series A round featuring cloud computing company Salesforce.com.
Salesforce, which participated through its corporate venturing subsidiary Salesforce Ventures, was joined by Eight Roads Ventures, the investment arm of financial services conglomerate Fidelity International, as well as venture capital firm Northzone and VC fund Moor.
Universal Avenue operates a service that enables companies to recruit local sales staff, known as brand ambassadors, on demand. Ambassadors are assigned a company through a mobile app and, after passing a bespoke test, can help to drum up business or conduct market research as required.
The platform is currently available in six countries: Sweden, the UK, Norway, Finland, Greece and Spain. The series A capital will be used to enter additional markets across Europe and to launch in the US.
Universal Avenue previously received $5m in seed funding from Salesforce Ventures, Northzone and Moor in September 2015. Moor had provided $2m in initial seed funding in 2014.
