SAM Seamless fixes $12m series A round

Israel-based network security technology provider SAM Seamless Network has closed a $12m series A round led by Intel Capital, the corporate venture capital arm of semiconductor and data technology producer Intel.

Security and automation technology provider ADT also participated in the round, along with cybersecurity-focused investment firm NightDragon and Blumberg Capital, the VC firm that co-led the startup’s $4m seed round in February this year with Richter Family Fund.

SAM has built a cybersecurity technology platform that can be installed remotely on the gateways that link networks, in order to protect local area networks from cyberattacks. The funding will go to US and European growth and the strengthening of its machine learning research.

Dave Flanagan, managing director of Intel Capital, said: “Unlike existing solutions, which necessitate buying a new gateway or replacing it with a secure gateway, SAM’s solution provides end-users security, without them needing to do anything.

“And for telecommunications companies and [internet service providers], its AI and machine learning capabilities monitor behaviour on the network to detect unusual activity and prevent attacks.”
