SAP Ventures, the corporate venturing unit belonging to Germany-based software corporation SAP, has led a $22m round of series D funding into US-based Five9, a provider of cloud contact center software.
There was also involvement from return backers private equity investment management firm Adams Street Partners, venture firm Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and Partech International, the Franco-American venture capital firm backed by Edenred, the France-based employee benefits services provider.
Five9 also secured a $12.5m revolving credit facility from City National Bank.
Mike Burkland, chief executive at Five9, said: “Our mission at this stage is to simply grow revenue and market share.”
Founded in 2001, Five9 has raised $71.6m to dare, including $17m in a series B round in 2005, $12m in 2008 and $8.6m in a series C round in January 2011.
