E-commerce software provider Sirclo has paid an undisclosed amount to acquire Orami, a Japan-based online parenting platform developer backed by corporates Sinar Mas, TMS Entertainment, CyberAgent and Digital Garage, Tech in Asia reported today.
Orami runs an online platform with 5 million monthly active users that offers curated content for parents. It was formed through the 2016 merger of female-focused e-commerce platforms Moxy and Bilna.
SMDV, the investment arm of diversified conglomerate Sinar Mas, led a $15m round for the company shortly after the merger that included Gobi Partners, Ardent Capital and Velos Partners.
Neither Moxy nor Bilna had revealed how much they raised pre-merger but Bilna’s investors included CyberAgent Ventures and DG Incubation – on behalf of internet companies CyberAgent and Digital Garage – as well as entertainment producer TMS Entertainment, East Ventures and Golden Gate Ventures.
