Zhiguoguo, a China-based startup that helps formalise the trademark registration process, has raised $3.7m in a series A round featuring conglomerate Legend Holdings, TechCrunch has reported.
Legend, which participated through its Legend Star unit, was joined by venture capital firm Matrix Partners China, which led the round. Zhiguoguo previously raised an undisclosed amount in a June 2014 angel round.
The company streamlines the trademark registration process, which can differ across various Chinese regions. Zhiguoguo, which has processed around 20,000 orders since May 2014, will spend the money on marketing, increasing staffing and expanding its range of services.
