Samho backs nanotech fund
Through its Samho Green Investment Venture Capital (SGI) unit, Samho has joined with the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy’s Korea Institute for the Advancement of Technology (KIAT), the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the St Petersburg government and a Russian state investment vehicle (Rusnano), and intellectual property manager 360ip in starting the Asia Nanotechnology Fund.
Siemens sees nuance in SVOX exit
Germany-based industrial conglomerate Siemens had previously backed SVOX from its Siemens Mobile Acceleration corporate venturing fund in October 2002 before then selling its Professional Speech Processing Group to the portfolio company in January 2009 and now reaping an exit.
Enphase engages with $100m flotation
Applied Ventures, the corporate venturing fund of Nasdaq-listed electronics company Applied Materials, owns 6.3% of Enphase having invested about $5.5m in its series B through to E rounds and $2.44m in a convertible loan earlier this month, according to the portfolio company’s regulatory filing.
YuMe sees merit in Appealing Media
YuMe, a US-based video advertising technology company backed by Intel Capital, has acquired UK peer Appealing Media for an undisclosed amount.
