Burke joins IBF conference advisory board

SanDisk, Cisco swing for Whiptail

Flash memory company SanDisk, and reportedly US-based technology company Cisco, have backed data storage company Whiptail, in a $31m round. The series C round was joined by venture firms Ignition Partners, RRE Ventures and Spring Mountain Capital, with Silicon Valley Bank providing debt financing. German state fund looks overseas

The corporate-backed state venture fund, which raised nearly $380m for the first close of its second venture fund in October last year, is in late-stage talks with one company started outside Germany, after securing the ability to invest overseas as part of the new fund.
