In November 2010, RedHill Biopharma, an Israel-based biopharmaceutical company started the year before, raised more than $10m from a consortium including mutual fund manager Fidelity Investments’ Biosciences venture capital (VC) team.
ClickFox hunts down $10m
ClickFox previously raised $18m in its C round in 2010 from venture capital firms Ascent Venture Partners, Cedar Fund, and Veritas Ventures, as well as Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners.
Koding raises $7.25m
Koding announced its first round of $2m in March 2011, led by RTP Ventures, the US affiliate of Russia-based IT investment conglomerate Ru-Net, and venture capital firm Greycroft Partners.
Jiaku.com gains Yonyou
China-based enterprise management software developer Yonyou Software’s corporate venturing unit, Yonyou Xingfu Investment, has invested RMB10m ($1.6m) in kitchenware retailer Jiaku.com.
RIM exits NewBay
RIM bought NewBay for around $100m in October 2011 from venture capital firms.
Sequoia Sciences gains funding
Venture capital firms Prolog Ventures and Holton Capital Group have provided funds to launch Sequoia Vaccines, a spin-out tackling urinary-tract infections from drug-discovery company Sequoia Sciences.

Germany-based Stratec Biomedical has an option to acquire up to 7% of US-based healthcare testing peer Quanterix as part of a partnership.
