Naspers, Tencent bundle India e-trader sites

South Africa media group, Naspers, and its shares in ‘money spinner’ China online gaming company Tencent Holdings, are paying off as are the two companies’ investment synergies. The two corporate investors have merged two investments, BuyThePrice.com and Tradus.com, to create a dominate player in the India buyer-seller e-commerce sector.

Telefónica’s Wayra selects 17 for academy

Tech accelerator Wayra has chosen 17 start-ups, ranging from cloud-based ticketing platforms to social apps and healthcare software, to enter its academy. e-tailer Wantitall backs Citymob

Wantitall, one of South Africa’s largest online retailers, has invested an undisclosed sum in flash sales specialist Citymob. Citymob, which has daily sales of curated, ‘design’ products at up to 70% off, will use the investment to improve its systems, logistics and warehousing facilities, as well as expand its customer base.
