Corporate venturing peps up health sector

Silicon Valley Bank said it believed it is unlikely that corporate venture could fill the gap left by weak fundraising by independent financial healthcare venture firms. Its analysis found during the last three years investment in the sector had been 2.3 times the amount raised in fundraising.

Wayra UnLtd selects 10 digital social startups

Itochu makes $5m strategic move for Fab

Japanese trading conglomerate Itochu Corporation has become the latest investor in international fashion and lifestyle e-commerce company Fab. The deal follows a prior investment by Itochu Technology Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of Itochu, in the initial $150M Series D kick-off round announced on June 19th.
