Radio equipment maker Otto Engineering paid $5m for a 20% stake in Multivoice, a US-based developer of voice-activated mobile technology, as part of a $5.75m seed round on Tuesday. NeuroPhage boosts series D to $27m

NeuroPhage Pharmaceuticals, a US-based biotechnology company backed by pharmaceutical firms Shire and Mérieux, has closed a $27m series D round after securing $10m from undisclosed investors. Apama ascends to series B

US-based medical device developer Apama Medical secured $11m of a planned $17.5m series B round on Tuesday from investors including Ascension Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of healthcare provider Ascension Health.
