23andMe, a personal genetics company, has raised $58m in a Series D round, according to a regulatory filing, an update on a previously reported $50m earlier this month, according to a recent filing.
Yuri Milner was joined in the round by return backers Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, 23andMe chief executive Anne Wojcicki, venture capital firms New Enterprise Associates, Google Ventures,the corporate venturing division of search company Google, and private equity firm MPM Capital.
23andMe’s series B closed at $27.8m last year, where noted angel investor Esther Dyson was a director alongside NEA partner Patrick Chung. 23andMe raised $22m in its series C round from a consortium including investor Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation (JJDC), the corporate venturing unit of a local healthcare company.
