42Floors, a US-based search engine for office leases that graduated from accelerator Y Combinator last summer, has raised $5m in its series A round from a swathe of industry investors.
The 32 investors include Jared Kushner, owner of The New York Observer and head of his family’s real estate company, who is joining the board; Daniel Mermel, owner at Sivan Properties; Jeffrey Epstein, director of sales at Shoplet; Michael Friedland, principal at private equity firm KKR’s real estate team for the past year; and Jae Yi, vice-president for new investments at real estate manager Colony Capital.
Jason Freedman, 42Floors founder, said: “We had huge demand in San Francisco — so much that we couldn’t keep up. So, for the New York launch we’ve quadrupled our capacity by partnering with the biggest property owners and brokers beforehand.”
