China-based travel service 51tour.com has raised an undisclosed amount in a series B round featuring Legend Capital, the corporate venturing arm of conglomerate Legend Holdings, China Money Network reported yesterday.
The round also included private equity firm Shenzhen Cornerstone of Entrepreneurial Cci Capital and investment firm Zhengyuan Celve. Legend Capital previously provided an undisclosed sum for 51tour’s 2012 series A round.
Founded in 1996, 51tour.com provides services for up to 300,000 Chinese tourists each year in holiday destinations such as Europe, America, Australia, Africa and Asia-Pacific, and claims to generate up to RMB 5bn ($800m) in annual revenues.
The company also recently formed a partnership with Hong Kong-based property developer New World Development Company to cooperate on cross-border commerce and overseas travel services.
