US-based car dealer BJ “Red” McCombs has launched a corporate venturing fund to invest in companies that create new products and services for automobile manufacturers and sellers.
Fraser McCombs Capital has raised almost $40m ahead of its final closing. Entrepreneur Chase Fraser, who founded and sold marketing company MarketQuiz, and Tony Rimas will manage the fund, with McCombs as an adviser.
Rimas is also managing partner of McCombs Partners, the investment arm of McCombs Enterprises, the parent company of McCombs’ dealerships and business interests.
The company’s website said its portfolio included Kapost, Phunware, Relevant Solutions and Roximity.
