Suzy gets insight in $12m series C

US-based consumer research provider Suzy has closed a $12m series C round led by Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI), an early-stage corporate venturing vehicle for media group Bertelsmann.

Foundry Group, Triangle Peak Partners, Tribeca Venture Partners and 35 Ventures also participated in the round, which took the total raised by the company to $32m.

Founded as Crowdtap before rebranding in 2017, Suzy operates an on-demand research software platform where brands can gain locate consumer data within minutes. The cash will go toward international expansion efforts that will be supported by Bertelsmann’s global reach.

Foundry Group led a $5m funding round for Suzy in 2017 that included Durant Company, having also led a $5m series B round in 2014 also featuring Tribeca Venture Partners, Mustang Group and Alta Communications.

MRY, the social media marketing agency then known as Mr Youth, participated in a $7m series A round for the company in 2011 that was also led by Foundry Group with backing from GSA Venture Partners.
