Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, the corporate venturing unit of the eponymous Germany-based media company, has invested a seven digit sum in Returbo, a Germany-based ecommerce company.
Jan Borgstädt, head of European Ventures at BDMI, said: “Returbo has quickly attained an attractive position in the fast-growing e-commerce sector – especially by intelligently combining B2B and B2C. This investment is an excellent opportunity for us to continue developing this innovative model with a highly motivated team and to participate in Returbo’s growth.” BDMI makes targeted investments in up-and-coming young companies in the digital media sector.
Returbo was founded in November 2010 with the backing of Found Fair Ventures, a Germany-based incubator.
Returbo helps retailers, distributors and brands with returned goods, over-stocks and out of date models.
