The corporate venturing unit of Germany-based software company SAP has helped Apigee, a US-based provider of application programming interface, raise $20m.
SAP Ventures was joined in the round by venture firms Focus Ventures, Bay Partners, Norwest Venture Partners, and Third Point Ventures.
In December the US-based programming technology companysecured a $7m series E financing round, according to a filing with the US Securities & Exchange Commission.
Apigee did not disclose the identity of the investors but signatories on the filing included representatives from investment firm Norwest Venture Partners, venture capital firm Bay Partners and Third Point Ventures, the venture capital division of investment adviser Third Point.
All have backed Apigee in the past, along with software firm SAP’s corporate venturing unit, SAP Ventures, computer networking company Juniper Networks, and web networking and programming firm Net One Systems.
Apigee had raised $65.7m since it was founded at the time of the December fundraising.
