UTest, a US-based software testing company, has acquired mobile applications tools maker Apphance from Poland’s Polidea for an undisclosed amount worth less than $10m.
The companies said the deal went back to last year, when the two firms first crossed paths at Mobile App World in London. “As UTest’s mobile app testing business grew dramatically – five times in the past 12 months – and the Apphance tool continued to mature, discussions between the two parties evolved.”
In December, UTest raised $17m for its series D round from a syndicate including private advisory boutique Mesco.
Venture capital firms QuestMark Partners, Scale Venture Partners and Longworth Venture Partners, as well as Egan-Managed Capital, the family office of the Egan family behind database company EMC, also invested in the round. UTest has raised $37m in total since it was formed in 2007.
