Zenjob meditates on $30m series C

Germany-based temporary job recruitment platform operator Zenjob completed a €27m ($30m) series C round on Tuesday that featured Axa Venture Partners, the corporate venturing arm of insurance provider Axa.

Forestay Capital led the round, while Redalpine, Acton Capital and Atlantic Labs also took part.

Founded in 2015, Zenjob runs an online platform for students to find flexible, temporary jobs in sectors such as retail and hospitality, matching candidates to companies looking for staff nearby within as little as 24 hours.

The company has attracted some 15,000 daily active users and is currently available in 14 cities across Germany. It will use the series C funding to expand further across the country, with a goal of being available nationwide by the end of the year, and to drive technology development.

A spokesperson for Zenjob separately told TechCrunch the company was also looking to enter two other countries within 12 months, exploring France, the Netherlands and Scandinavia as options.

Zenjob obtained $17m in a series B round led by Axa Venture Partners in 2018, with participation from Acton, Redalpine and Atlantic Labs. Acton previously led a $5.9m series A round in 2017, with contributions from Redalpine and Atlantic Labs.
