Enview entertains Statkraft in $12m round

Enview, a US-based developer of geospatial data processing technology, has received $12m in funding from investors including Statkraft Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of hydro power producer Statkraft, it confirmed yesterday.

Venture capital fund BrightCap Ventures led the oversubscribed round, which was also backed by Ahoy Capital, Crosslink Capital and Toivo Annus, the co-founder of online communication platform Skype.

Founded in 2015, Enview has created a software platform that uses artificial intelligence to process 3D geospatial data at high speeds. Crosslink Capital had previously led its $6m series A round in 2017, investing together with Toivo Annus, Lemnos Labs and Promus Ventures.

Alexander Küppers, senior investment manager at Statkraft Ventures, said: “We are excited to invest into an inspiring team and tech at Enview ready to further increase data-processing and analytics capabilities of their customers working around critical energy infrastructure.

We do see a clear need for modelling the world in 3D in different verticals and are proud to back Enview on their journey of applying this tech to additional use cases, customers and geographies.”
