Japan-based amino acid-based products supplier Ajinomoto partnered startup incubator and accelerator operator 01Booster to form a business creation and corporate accelerator on Wednesday.
Ajinomoto Group Accelerator will concentrate on areas including the future of food and health, rediscovery of traditional gastronomy, family, lifestyle and sustainability, and will leverage innovative technologies such as the internet of things, artificial intelligence, automation and electronics.
Applications from entrepreneurs and startups at any stage are being accepted until September 24, with five to eight teams to be chosen from a business plan contest set to take place on December 8. The five-month initiative will culminate in a demo day in May 2021.
Participants will have access to 01Booster’s office space and network of mentors including Ajinomoto executives in addition to business resources from the corporate. They will get a ¥100,000 ($930) prize at the end of the program and have the possibility of receiving equity funding.
