SafetyCulture snaps up with portfolio company EdApp

Australia-based workplace safety technology provider SafetyCulture has acquired its local portfolio company, microlearning platform developer EdApp.

News provider Sydney Morning Herald said the acquisition valued EdApp at A$40m. In September last year, SafetyCulture  invested A$4.25m ($2.9m) in EdApp.

The investment followed a previous SafetyCulture-led $2.9m round for the company in September 2018.

SafetyCulture itself raised A$60.5m in April from venture investors TDM Growth Partners, BlackBird Ventures, Index Ventures, former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull alongside his wife Lucy Turnbull and Atlassian co-founder Scott Farquhar through his investment vehicle Skip Capital lead by his wife Kim Jackson, according to the Herald.
