Digital consulting firm Atos has agreed to acquire SEC Consult, an Austria-based cybersecurity consultancy backed by telecommunications firm Swisscom, for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2002, SEC Consult provides advice, audits and stress tests to protect against cybersecurity risks, focusing on addressing threats in the public, finance and utility sectors.
The company operates across the Dach region of Europe encompassing Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as in North America and three Asia Pacific countries: Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
SEC Consult also provides broadband-related advice through Swisscom’s Bug Bounty customer troubleshooting programme. The acquisition will help Atos strengthen its cybersecurity consulting business, particularly in the Dach region.
Swisscom’s corporate venturing arm, Swisscom Ventures, lists SEC Consult as a portfolio company on its website but has not said when it invested.
