Kai Engelhardt, former head of global digitalisation and previous head of corporate venture capital at Germany-based automotive component maker Mahle, has moved to peer Brose to set up its corporate venturing unit.
Brose is already looking to hire an investment manager under Engelhardt to work for “a family business that is growing successfully around the world”.
Engelhardt, a GCV Powerlist award winner, said he had decided to return to ventures after two years as head of digitalisation at Mahle “after reading your wonderful CVC book, [Corporate Venturing: A Survival Guide, published last year]. I had no other chance than returning to VC business. I had some other very tempting options but decided for the topic I really love.”
