Japan-based property technology firm Tasuki plas to launch a vehicle called Tasuki Incubation Fund, which will target IT startups focusing on digital transformation in the real estate industry.
Founded in 2013, Tasuki provides an internet-of-things device installation service dubbed Tasuki IoT Residence, as well as property investment crowdfunding platform Tasuki Funds and Tasuki Tech, which promotes artificial intelligence-based digitalisation in the housing and residential management industry.
Tasuki Incubation Fund is scheduled to begin operations in early 2021. It will back property technology developers with innovative business models that will help automate the sector and which have synergistic potential with the corporate.
Portfolio companies will have access to mentoring and industry know-how from Tasuki and its external partners. It will carry out investments on a project-by-project basis and will not form a specialised corporate venturing subsidiary or vehicle. The amount of capital set aside for the initiative is undisclosed.
