Gree Ventures, the corporate venturing fund launched by Japan-based internet media company Gree, has invested in the series A round for Indonesia-based fashion e-commerce site Berrybenka.com.
Berrybenka will use the new funds to expand its range of products and improve its logistics services.
Jason Lamoda, co-founder of Disdus, has been appointed president director of Berrybenka.com having previously filled the role within the company as a member of the advisory board.
Lamoda said: “Fashion is one of the biggest market opportunities in the Indonesian e-commerce landscape. When you look at more developed regions such as Europe, China, Japan, and India, there always existed leading local fashion e-commerce players. Similarly, we aspire to become the leading fashion e-commerce player in Indonesia, built locally.”
Last year, Berrybenka secured seed funding from early-stage fund East Ventures.
