Zettaset, a US-based data management company, has raised $10m in its series B round from a consortium including peer Brocade.
Alongside Brocade were venture capital firms HighBar Partners, which led the syndicate, DFJ and Epic Ventures.
Zettaset’s Orchestrator software automates Hadoop deployments.
Dave Stevens, chief technology officer and vice-president of corporate development at Brocade, said: “One of Zettaset’s key differentiators is its distribution-agnostic approach.
“This means that companies no longer need to feel locked into any single Hadoop technology.”
Jim Vogt Zettaset, executive president, who replaced co-founder and chief executive Brian Christian in February last year, added: “Zettaset is the only vendor providing a comprehensive, software-only solution for cluster management that can be deployed across a wide variety of operating systems, Hadoop distributions, and file systems, transparently integrating Big Data into existing environments.”
Zettaset raised $3m in it’s A round in July 2011 from DFJ and Epic Ventures and was renamed from GoTo Metrics.
