YuMe buys Crowd Science

YuMe, a US-based operating system for internet-enabled televisions, has acquired Crowd Science, a local provider of audience targeting technologies, for an undisclosed amount.

YuMe has raised about $77.5m from South Korea-based electronics conglomerate Samsung’s corporate venturing unit and venture capital firms, such as WestSummit Capital, Accel Partners, Khosla Ventures, DAG Ventures, Menlo Ventures and Translink Capital.

VC firm Granite Capital has backed Crowd Science in a series A round in December 2007.
