Artificial intelligence and computer vision technology developer CyberLabs has merged with PSafe, a Brazil-based antivirus software provider backed by peer Qihoo 360, Latin America Business Stories has reported.
Dubbed CyberLabs Group, the merged group’s lead product is Dfndr Enterprise, a software tool that monitors the deep web in a bid to provide small and medium-sized enterprises with automated and predictive cybersecurity services, thwarting data leaks.
Founded in 2010, PSafe has developed cloud-based mobile security and privacy apps for the Android operating system with more than 20 million monthly active users across its product offerings including Dfndr Security and Dfndr Vault.
The company completed a $30m series D round in 2015 co-led by Qihoo, Pinnacle Ventures and Redpoint eVentures Brazil.
Qihoo led a $30m series C round two years before, investing alongside Redpoint and Pinnacle, which came after Qihoo and Redpoint’s participation in a 2010 round of undisclosed size.
Group chief executive Marcelo Sales told Latin America Business Stories: “We are going to offer the state of the art in AI to help Brazilian companies protect themselves on the internet.
“We are living in a digital pandemic and because small and medium-sized companies do not have enough structures or resources, each remote employee becomes an additional point of vulnerability.”
