R3 Development Fund, a corporate venturing arm of US-based enterprise blockchain software provider R3, has deployed roughly $10m having participated in more than 30 funding rounds for some 20 startups, it said.
Formed in 2019, the fund partners and invests in blockchain and confidential computing technology developers building apps designed to operate on R3’s blockchain platform, Corda, and confidential computing portal, Conclave, investing at pre-seed to series A stage.
David Rutter, R3’s chief executive, said: “R3’s strength is derived from its community, which includes a diverse range of startups from a myriad of industries – from insurance to education, supply chain finance to payment messaging – building and deploying apps for customers across the globe.
“The R3 Development Fund is already known in these industries as an expert strategic investor with a strong track record in backing the most promising early-stage companies.”
