Canvas, a US-based provider of a mobile business apps platform, has closed a $4m Series C funding round led by venture capital firm Osage Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors, including Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, the corporate venture unit of the eponymous US-based handset company.
Motorola Solutions led a $1.2m first close of a $1.75m series B funding round for Canvas in July 2011. Existing backers of Canvas, besides Motorola Solutions, include Berman Venture Capital, CIT and Goldin Ventures.
The new financing will be utilized to build out capabilities and functionality, to expand and support subscribers across the globe, and to accelerate usage of a personal data cloud, MyCanvas.
