Kevin Skillern, managing director of venture capital at General Electric’s investment unit GE Energy Financial Services, is reported to be leaving in order to set up an independent investment platform.
Skillern has worked at GE Energy Financial Services since July 2004, responsible for venture capital investments in energy and water industries. Many of his investments have been directed into the clean-energy technology sector, including energy management providers Grid Net and Tendril, wind power equipment makers Southwest Windpower and Danotek Motion Technologies, solar power maker Soliant Energy, and compact electron beam developer Advanced Electron Beams.
