Cybersecurity technology provider Tenable has agreed to acquire Accurics, a US-based cloud security software developer backed by chipmaker Intel, for roughly $160m.
Founded in 2019, Accurics has built an infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tool that helps organisations detect and solve risks associated with cloud-native platforms.
The company had last disclosed funding in October 2020, having received $20m across seed and series A rounds, the latter of which was led by Intel Capital, the corporate venturing arm of Intel.
Venture capital firm ClearSky led the seed round, which is likely the $5m round announced in April 2020 when Accurics emerged from stealth. The participants in that deal included WestWave Capital, Firebolt Ventures and Secure Octane.
Piyush Sharrma, co-founder and CEO of Accurics, said: “Cloud-native infrastructure requires security that is integrated into the DevOps pipeline and enforced throughout the lifecycle – shifting legacy processes left is simply inadequate.
“Joining forces with Tenable increases our ability to help organisations accelerate innovation by aligning development, operational and security teams behind security and resiliency goals.”
