BackOps, a US-based professional services company which provides cloud-based back office operations for small businesses, has raised $7m in series A funding led by venture capital firms Sherpa Ventures and E-ventures, with participation from Google Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of internet search company Google, and existing seed investors.
Previously in October 2012, BackOps raised $1m from angel investor Mark Pincus (chief executive officer of Zynga) and others. BackOps’ total funding has now reached nearly $9m.
BacksOps was founded in 2010 by Kristen Koh Goldstein, “to prove once and for all that motherhood and career are compatible.” BackOps is staffed by a network of work-at-home moms known as “riveters”.
