CoinList collects $100m in series A round

CoinList, the US-headquartered operator of a crypto token listing platform, secured $100m yesterday in a series A round featuring automotive component maker Wanxiang’s HashKey Capital affiliate and trading firm Capital Markets Trading.

Accomplice and Agman co-led the round, which included Access Ventures, Alphemy Capital, Broadhaven Ventures, Continue Capital, DFG, FBG Capital, Fenbushi Capital, Hack VC, Jsquare, Metaplanet Holdings, Perpetual Value Partners and LD Capital.

The participants were rounded off by Rising Tide Fund, Taavet+Sten and executives from GoldenTree Asset Management, while Capital Markets Trading invested through its CMT Digital subsidiary. The deal valued the company at $1.5bn.

CoinList’s online platform lists token issuances for blockchain-focused companies, helping them access cash from prospective investors. Its monthly transactions reached $1bn earlier this year and it runs a demo day for startups under the CoinList Seed banner.

Graham Jenkin, chief executive of CoinList, said: “In this round, we focused on deepening relationships with our existing community rather than signing new venture capital. And our community is truly global.

“While we have some great US investors, our new investors are mostly active users and partners in the regions where we are growing fastest – Asia, Europe and the Middle East. We are very excited to have them join us.”

The company had closed a $9.2m round in 2018 fetauring Polychain Capital, Digital Currency Group, FBG Capital, Libertus Capital, Blockchain Capital, CoinFund, Electric Capital, Accomplice and Protocol Lab, before private investor Jack Dorsey added $10m in October 2019.
