Panorama Education, a US-based education technology company which provides schools with data analytics and feedback surveys, has raised $4m in seed funding co-led by Startup:Education, a $100m investment foundation launched by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, and micro venture capital firm SoftTech VC; other participating investors include Google Ventures, the venture capital investment arm of internet search firm Google, venture capital firm A-Grade Investments, and Yale University.
This is Startup:Education’s first national equity investment. Previously, Panorama has been backed by backed by Y Combinator.
Mark Zuckerberg said: “Priscilla and I are excited to support Panorama Education and its mission. Their company is an exciting example of the way technology can help teachers, parents and students make their voices heard.”
Aaron Feuer, who co-founded Panorama while still an undergraduate at Yale, said: “Our schools weren’t using feedback from teachers, parents, and students effectively. There was a missed opportunity to understand everyone’s experiences and learn what was and wasn’t working. That data is extremely important when addressing issues such as parent involvement, bullying prevention, school safety, and student engagement.”
