Qihoo puts funds in PSafe

PSafe, a Brazil-based antivirus software and cloud storage company, has raised $30m in a funding round which closed in November, led by existing investor, China-based internet and antivirus firm Qihoo 360 contributing $25m, together with $5m from existing investors Redpoint e.ventures, a US-based, Brazil-focused venture capital fund, and venture capital firm Pinnacle Ventures. Psafe has been valued at a reported $130m.

Previously, Qihoo invested an undisclosed amount in PSafe in 2010, along with Redpoint.

Li Tao, Qihoo’s vice president of business development and international operations., said: “It is in Qihoo’s best interests to see PSafe fully develop and help it become of the best Internet security companies in Latin America,” Mr. Li said.
