Following its graduation from the Wayra Academy, UK-based Buzzmove announced that it has been able to secure $650,000 for its seed funding round. Wayra has invested in Buzzmove for the second time. Apart from Wayra, Buzzfeed secured its funding from Michael & Simon Blakey at Avonmore Developments, Daniel McPherson and Tom Singh (Founder of New Look) at Launcha.com, Andrew Weizs at Lean Investments and Justin Peters, CEO of Kabbee.
Charmaine Eggberry, a Wayra UK director, has been appointed as chairperson at Buzzmove.
Simon Blakey, who has been appointed as a Buzzmove director, said: “Buzzmove has a win-win model, and strikes a perfect balance between providing removers with booked jobs, straight into their order books and offering consumers a series of tailored accurate quotes on how much it will cost for them to move with trusted and accredited remover.”
Buzzmove CEO Becky Downing said: “We’ve seen significant development both in our technology and business partnerships thanks to our involvement in the Wayra programme. This funding comes at a perfect time as we launch nationwide and will enable us to bring on more vendors into the marketplace.”
Launched in 2013, Buzzmove was a member of Telefonica’s Wayra Academy for nine months. The London-based startup provides users with a range of essential moving-related services. It offers customers real-time price comparison and instant online booking.
