Docurated’s platform transforms file storage solutions such as Box, Dropbox, SharePoint, Google Drive and file servers into searchable content.
The funding round was led by Rogers Venture Partners (RVP) whose general partner Voytek Siewierski also joined Docurated’s board. Existing investors also participated.
This funding adds to the $1.6m generated through a seed round in June 2012.
Voytek Siewierski, RVP general partner said, “The number one problem in enterprise IT is ‘where did I save that document?’ With Docurated, it does not matter. The company’s early success in providing economic value and productivity gains to Fortune 500 companies in multiple verticals validates the technology and use cases, and confirms that the company has the right team and strategy in place.”
Docurated enables users to instantly find and use the exact and most relevant page, paragraph, slide and chart without opening a single folder or file. Content in shared drives and commercial systems like SharePoint, Box and Dropbox instantly becomes visually searchable and actionable.
This investment will help Docurated add sales and marketing resources to meet soaring customer demand, as well as technical staff to further enhance search intelligence, mobile capabilities, collaboration features and expand file storage vendor support.
Docurated chief executive Alex Gorbansky said, “We’re delighted that RVP has joined our existing investors in helping us disrupt the old file-and-folder paradigm with a far more user-friendly solution that makes content and document management systems and repositories what they should be – useful. The RVP partners have extensive domain expertise and will be instrumental in helping us expand our growing customer base.”
