France-based telecommunications company Orange has selected seven out of the 156 applications from startups to its three-month local accelerator.
The seven that have been accepted for the Orange Fab France acceleration programme, which offers grants of up to €15,000 ($25,000) in the form of convertible bonds, are:
- Afrimarket, a secure platform for transferring money to Africa to use as payment for services;
- MyBee, contactless payment solutions for event planning professionals;
- NaturalPad, the development of specialized games that facilitate functional rehabilitation;
- Octopepper, for Yummypets, a social networking project for pet owners as well as connected collars;
- Pixience, a digital dermoscope for dermatologists and clinics;
- TimeTonic, a collaboration, productivity and personal communication tool for professionals; and
- Vivapics, a free photo printing and home delivery service.
In November, Orange said it was expanding the international reach of the Silicon Valley-based Orange Fab to include France, Japan and Poland.
Orange Fab was first launched in March 2013, taking its first intake two months later in May.
