July Systems, an Intel Capital-backed company that allows users to build and manage mobile apps and websites has raised $2.1m in equity, according to an SEC filing.

US-based July, which has raised $42.1m since it was founded, also named BJ Arun, formerly a founder of server and cluster software provider California Digital and metrics software company Librato, as its new chief executive this week. Intel Capital also led the company’s series C round in March 2010, which raised $7m, with venture firms Sequoia Capital and Footprint Ventures also participating.

July Systems previously raised $10m in its 2004 series B round from venture firm Acer Technology Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of electronics manufacturer Acer, Charles River Ventures, NeoCarta Ventures, Jumpstartup, and Silicon Valley Bancshares, and $8m from its series A round.
